Apple 发布 Minions 论文，提出把多台 macOS 设备上闲置的 Apple Silicon GPU 聚合成分布式虚拟 GPU 云，用于运行大规模机器学习推理。论文指出集中式 GPU 基础设施存在成本高、弹性有限、资源紧张时排队时间长等问题。Minions 让团队复用现有 Apple Silicon 设备的 GPU 算力，无需额外采购专用 GPU 集群。

The increasing demand for GPU-accelerated machine learning inference has exposed limitations in centralized GPU infrastructures, including high cost, limited elasticity, and long wait times under resource constraints.
