OpenAI 把越来越多的算力分配给安全工作，这被认为是其算力短缺的一个原因。短缺的迹象包括 ChatGPT 曾暂停 200 美元订阅计划的新用户注册，并收紧现有计划的用量限制。公司转而寻求用更高效的 GPT-6.1 Sol 来折中，但 GPT-6.1 即使在 Fast Mode 下响应也很慢。这说明数据中心扩建速度跟不上算力需求增长。

One clear indication is that they had to temporarily pause new subscriptions to the $200 plan. Another is that they are significantly tightening usage limits on the existing plan and seeking a middle ground with the much more efficient GPT-6.1 Sol.
Yet GPT-6.1 is almost unbearably slow, even in Fast Mode. In other words, it is becoming increasingly clear that data center expansion is not keeping pace with demand for compute.
