Anthropic's Jack Clark will deliver this year's IMF Per Jacobsson Foundation lecture on October 16th titled 'Inside the Event Horizon: Why Everyone Should Take AI Progress Seriously', in which he says he will 'make the case that we are entering a period of massive, sudden change catalyzed by the advancing capabilities of AI systems.'
We are indeed now inside the event horizon, I think the only argument left is when we passed it. From me it was either November 2025 or February 2026, depending on how you look at it.
