Math is, as Terence Tao has pointed out repeatedly, not just about the kind of challenges that current models can solve with brute force, but coming up with new ways of understanding math. AFAIK current systems haven’t done that. Moreover what they have done in math – where they rely on symbolic verification tools – probably doesn’t generalize all that well to the rest of the life.
