Perplexity 推出 Fast Search 搜索 API，底层是其自研的 Rust 检索与排序引擎 Photon。该服务 95% 的搜索结果在 230 毫秒内返回，p95 延迟低于 250 毫秒。Photon 由一个小团队开发，并借助内部版 Perplexity Computer 驱动的数百个 auto-research 循环持续优化，在相关性与准确性基准上保持靠前排名。
Perplexity has the fastest and most capable Search API, powered by our own Rust-based retrieval and ranking engine, Photon, achieving sub-250ms p95 latency while still ranking highly on relevance and accuracy benchmarks. Photon was built by a small team and hundreds of auto-research loops powered by a more capable internal version of Perplexity Computer.
